Postdoctoral Associate Position in Tumor Immunology/Immunotherapy
Hanks Lab, University of North Carolina's Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina
The Hanks Lab is a basic/translational research lab with an interest in understanding cancer immune evasion and immunotherapy resistance. We are seeking candidates for two positions:
Position 1
We are seeking a motivated, hardworking Post-Doctoral Candidate with a background in immunology to guide studies focused on examining a newly discovered signaling pathway driving the development of tolerogenic dendritic cells in the tumor microenvironment and examining how this pathway may contribute to immunotherapy resistance.
Specific Qualifications:
Interest and experience in innate immunology preferred.
Experience in performing and analyzing bulk RNAseq/scRNAseq preferred.
Position 2
We are seeking a motivated, hardworking Post-Doctoral Candidate with a background in immunology to guide studies on the role of the tumor-intrinsic NLRP3 inflammasome in immune evasion and its impact on tumor dormancy and immunotherapy resistance.
Specific Qualifications:
Interest and experience in dendritic cell biology preferred.
Experience in performing and analyzing CUT&TAG sequencing experiments preferred.
These will be two-year minimum positions. The candidates will be expected to work independently while collaborating with other lab members in a team-oriented work environment. Recent Ph.D. graduates preferred. For more information visit http://www.thehankslab.com.
Qualifications for both positions:
PhD Degree with a background in tumor immunology
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English with good organizational and analytical abilities
Capable of working independently on assigned projects while thriving in a team-oriented environment
Significant experience in multi-parameter flow cytometry and in the design of cell-based assays required
Experience in working with murine tumor models required
Previous grant writing experience preferred.
